ESSAY WRITING, 12th CLASS ESSAY WIRING; ONLINE ESSAY; ESSAY ON RIGHTS AND DUTIES OF CITIZENS :

Rights And Duties Of Citizens

Introduction: we are the citizens of India. India has her own Constitution. It is democratic. So it has given us certain right. Rights without duties are meaningless. So we have certain rights and duties to perform.

our rights: Rights and duties are closely connected. They are co-related. One cannot exist without the other. Every right has been restricted by certain duties. If we have a right to live, we have a duty to let others live.

our duties: The state gives us protection. So it is our duty to obey the rules of the government and pay the taxes in time. No government can function well without money. Gandhiji said,"Do your duties. Right will come automatically." Prof. Haldane wrote,"A citizen has no right against the state." The main duty of a citizen is to save the honour of his country. So he must be healty. A weak and ailing person can do nothing positive. A weak person is a burden. He can neither do good to himself nor to the country.

A good citizen should be selfless. He should be prepared to sacrifice his all for his country. Bhama Shah of  Udaipur offered a very big amount of money to Rana Pratap unasked for Self-sacrificing citizens are the glory of the country where they are born.

Pointing out the standard of good conduct, Socrates said, "Treat others as you wish to be treated by them." Gandhiji said, "Socrates has explained clearly the scope of our rights."

conclusion: Regarding the rights and duties of a citizens thinkers do not agree. One says that a citizen should be free to do what he likes. The other says that state is all and all. A citizen has no rights whatever. But all of them agree that a citizen should save the honour of his country and the government should do her best to make him enlightened, cultured, prosperous and carefree.
